What are the best golf shoes?

  • larrybud2004 posted: 31 Jul at 7:11 pm

Depends what you want to spend and how much he plays. Eccos are a top brand, and they’re pricey, around $200.

But you can get a decent pair such as Nike or Addidas for around $100, especially this time of year when you might be able to find the 2008 models.

Once you decide on brand, there’s a million styles and colors!

Footjoy Dryjoys are very good (and waterproof) for about $120.

What does he wear now? Does he complain about them or does he like them? Maybe he could use another pair in a different color.

Does he have a certain style? If he is into the sporty Nike style casual sporting wear, here a good priced reliable nike waterproof shoes:

If he is into the classy, formal golfing game (he wears slacks while playing) this might be his style:

both of those pairs of shoes are very good name-brand products. they are both waterproof and have great style. I have Nike shoes, partially because we can get great discounts at the employee store, and I like Nike more, but footjoy makes some of the best looking, and quality golfing shoes on the planet.

    good luck!

You should get Foot Joys. They are the #1 shoe and glove on tour, and in golf.

Ok you need to get Footjoy Dryjoy Classics. There is no other shoe out there that will make him happier. They are comfortable and they are very professional. Many players on tour wear them. Hope my answer helped :D

    I personally like the Foot-joy E-Comfort’s.
There great for the price and are EXTREMELY soft and comfy.

As someone who was in the business (I owned a retail golf store for 3 years) I can tell you that shoes are a very tough proposition to pick out for someone else. As the manufacturers vary wildly in fit, it is almost impossible to pick out a shoe that the golfer will both like and be able to wear. Nike and Adidas run very narrow, Foot Joy has so many styles that vary in quality and fit, Ecco uses European sizing with no 1/2 sizes. Then you run the risk of his keeping a pair he doesn’t like so that he doesn’t hurt your feelings. So there are a couple of different things you can do:
    A) Get him a gift card to the closest golf store and go with him to pick them out so he doesn’t buy himself another putter or driver he doesn’t need
    B) Do your best to pick out a style he will like (my fav is Foot Joy Reel-Fit solid white), keep a gift receipt and hope for the best
    C) Buy a shoe that is a 1/2 size off so he can go swap them for the pair he really wants without feeling like he’s rejecting your gift or hurting your feelings

It really depends on your preferences. Ecco is probably the most comfortable, but they’re prices avg about $160 and go up to their high end shoe, which is the World Class GTX ($400 american dolares).

FJ isn’t bad, but their styles have been pretty lame over the last 1/2 dozen yrs or so.

HiTec has decent shoes, but they’re not really considered a name brand like FJ, Adidas, Callaway, Ecco, Nike, etc.

It all depends on your price range:

    - $100 or less, go with Callaway because they have good quality shoes that all have a 2 year waterproof warranty, which is usually pretty darn important for a golfer

    - $150 or less, go with FootJoy. They’re the #1 shoe in golf and you can get a good 2 year waterproof shoe within this price range, like the DryJoy model or the ReelFit (reg price $200, but sales are at $150); depending on his sense of style, Nike also has some pretty comfortable shoes too – any Tiger Woods (TW) models are great and carry a 2 yr warranty.

    - above $150, Ecco all the way. 3 yr waterproof warranty and these are the best shoes out there if you’ve got the dough.

    I hope this helps!
